ISLAMABAD: The population and household count in the second block of the phase one under the sixth population census in sixty-three districts across the country will start today (Friday).
Briefing media on Thursday, Chief Census Commissioner Asif Bajwa said that the house listing operation in the second block of phase one will start on Friday and will continue for three days.
He said the population and household count of the second block will be made from April 3-12. He said the homeless people in the second block will be counted on April 13.
The first phase includes sixteen districts in Punjab, eight in Sindh, 14 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15 districts in Balochistan and five each in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
He said that about 50 percent the drive will be completed after the first phase is finished. He said the first phase includes 80,400 blocks while there are 168,275 total blocks across the country.
Asif Bajwa said that during the drive in the first block the response of the general public was very good.
