Second ODI: Pakistan crushes SA by 66 runs

DUBAI: Pakistan have defeated South Africa in the second ODI by 66 runs on Friday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, ARY News reported.

South African in chase of 209 runs fumbled and were all out at the score of 143 runs in 41st over.

Spin bowling of national cricket team played vital role in the victory of Pakistan; Shahid Afridi was on the top of it with three wickets in 5.4 overs conceding 26 runs.

Mohammad Hafeez and Saeed Ajmal bowled economical spells; Hafeez dismissed one player in his 10 overs and conceded 25 runs while Ajmal got two wickets off 15 runs in 8 overs.

Saeed Ajmal has become the highest wicket-taker this year in ODIs with a tally of 43, joint with Ravindra Jadeja.

Mohammad Irfan, who remained bit expensive by giving 53 runs with three wickets.

Ryan Mc Laren was the top scorer for Proteas with his unbeaten 29 runs.

Earlier, Ahmed Shehzad has once again performed best among the Pakistani batsmen and scored 58 runs, scoring third consecutive fifty.

Meanwhile, captain Misbah-ul-Haq scored 25, Mohammad Hafeez got bowled out at 26 while Umar Amin and Umar Akmal dismissed after scoring 14 and 18 runs respectively.

Shahid Afridi was looking good but wasn’t able to improvise his inning and get out at the score of 26 runs that came in 20 balls.

Ryan McLaren was on the top of South African bowlers with his 4 wickets while Morne Morkel dismissed 3 batsmen.

The 5 matches’ series is now leveled 1-1 while the third ODI will be played on November 6 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
