According to details, unknown terrorists had planted a landmine on the corner of Link Mills Road which was detonated when a vehicle of Rapid Response Group was passing through the area.
A policeman was killed whereas five others injured.
The wounded officers were rushed to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Quetta for medical treatment where the condition of two injured is said to be critical.
CMH staff stated that the condition of all the affected persons is said to be out of danger.
Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) stated that four to six kilograms of explosives were used to carry out the attack.
