The incident took place near Bhagnotar when a passenger van was coming from the rural area of Namli Maira to Abbottabad when the accident occurred.
Local people and volunteers immediately reached the site of the incident to help in the rescue efforts which was hampered by the dismal road conditions.
Later, Rescue 1122 officials helped send the injured and the dead to Benazir Shaheed Hospital and Ayub Medical Complex. Police officials also collected evidences from the site of the incident and have started investigations.
Hospital officials said that five people were dead upon arrival. The dead include women and children, who were coming to Abbottabad for recreational purposes when the ill-fated incident happened.
