Seven death row convicts executed across Pakistan, raising toll to 130

Seven prisoners on death row were sent to the gallows in jails located in different cities of Pakistan’s Punjab province.

Vehari District Jail witnessed the hanging of two rapist cum murderers Abdul Sattar and Sanaullah.

Abdul Sattar murdered a 13 year old girl before raping her while Sanaullah was convicted of rape and murder of an 11 year old boy Danish.

Two murderers Muhammad Naseer and Faisal Mahmood were hanged till death in Gujrat.

Two prisoners were sent to gallows in Lahore city’s Kot Lakhpat Jail. The convicts Abdul Khaliq and Shahzas were convicted of murder.

Shahzad killed a man while Abdul Khaliq killed a man in factory area.

Murder convict Khan Bahadur was executed in Rawalpindi city’s Adiala prison. Khan killed a man named Yasir Mehmood back in 1997.

Pakistan lifted the moratorium on death penalty on Dec. 17, a day after Pakistani Taliban gunmen attacked Army Public School in Peshawar and killed 134 students and 19 adults.

The moratorium, in force since 2008, was initially lifted only in terrorism cases. But the government extended the order in March, directing provincial governments to proceed with hangings for all death row prisoners who have exhausted their appeals and clemency petitions.
