Seven killed, 26 others injured in rain related incidents in KP: PDMA

PESHAWAR: Seven people were killed and 26 others sustained wounds in rain-related incidents in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa (KP), ARY News reported on Wednesday.

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) report about damages occurred due to recent downpour in KP, seven people lost their live in heavy rains and gusty winds and others got injured.

The injured were moved to medical facilities for the treatment.

Three casualties were reported in Peshawar, two in Swabi and one in Kohat, said the report.

Meanwhile, more than 5 houses were damaged in recent spell of heavy rains.

Last month, at least five people including children were killed in rain related incidents in different districts of Balochistan.

The deaths took place after intense rain and floods damaged houses.

Separately, eight people were injured due to rains related incidents in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday morning.

According to Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), six people were injured in Kohat and one each in Tank and Upper Dir.

Meanwhile, the director general PDMA had directed the district administration to provide relief goods to the affectees.

The injured were shifted to hospitals.
