This spirit of patriotism can be used for transformation of the thinking of the countrymen to pay homage to the father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other founding fathers of Pakistan.
Here are seven steps how the nation can celebrate the Independence Day in its truest sense.
Following Quaid-e-Azam’s teachings
It is our duty as a true Pakistani to follow the teachings and principles of Quaid-e-Azam. The quotes of the Father of the Nation are not just for hearing, they can also guide on how we can become a great nation.
Remember our martyrs
It is because of our shaheeds that we are able to live and survive as a respectable nation. Millions of people from all walks of lives have sacrificed their lives to make Pakistan a reality.
Refrain from hooliganism
Celebrating Pakistan’s Independence Day does not mean we resort to hooliganism on the streets. The nation should celebrate it with utmost respect and dignity. This way we can behave like a true Pakistani.
Serve the nation
Even on Independence Day, we should be serving the nation any way we can. Either be it helping the poor and needy or giving way to ambulance. Quaid-e-Azam wanted all Pakistanis to be helping each other through thick and thin.
Respect diversity of belief and ethnicity
Pakistan was created for all and we should follow the true sense of the independence. We should respect people from all beliefs and ethnicities without any prejudice as Quaid in his historic speech had said that everyone will be considered equal in Pakistan.
Pickup buntings from the floors and roads
Houses and roads will be decorated with buntings, flags and what not but we should remain careful that they are not lying on the floor. They must be taken care of and must be picked up by anyone who sees it lying on the ground. Our flag is our identity.
Treat all citizens equally
Instead of lip service, with legislation in the parliament to ensure equal opportunities in all sectors for all citizens of Pakistan without any discrimination between the rich and poor.
