KARACHI: New academic year has just begun and several books of private publishers have become rare in the markets across Sindh, ARY News reported.

Despite passage of several days of new educational year, the books are unavailable in the market. Parents are forced to regularly visit markets for book hunt, without much success.

Chairman Private Schools Management Association Sharfuzzaman said books are not printed in compliance with the need.

“40 percent books are printed out of the total requirement,” he said.

Parents complained of high prices of books sold by famous private publishers. Due to non-availability of books in the market, parents are forced to buy books, uniforms and stationary items from private schools, they said.

They also said education had become far too expensive and quality of education was comparatively poor.
