LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister’s spokesperson Shahbaz Gill on Sunday responded Hamza Shahbaz’s statement, saying that the nexus of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) was an unsuccessful attempt to hide its corrupt practices.

“They [opposition leaders] should not violate the sanctity of the Holy Month [of Ramadan] for hiding their corruption,” he said in a Twitter message today.

Gill criticised the PML-N leader that Bilawal is seemed to ask Hamza and Maryam Nawaz for when to pull out Asif Ali Zardari on to streets. He said that the major damage caused to the national economy by corruption and telegraph transfers (TT) transactions.

The spokesperson detailed that foreign properties were purchased after acquiring $50 billion loans in past 10 years. He said that the two major opposition parties will finalise strategies to secure Swiss Bank accounts and Avenfield properties in today’s Iftar dinner hosted by Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.

“Nation has witnessed that Zardari and Sharif family were two faces of the same coin and it was the victory of Imran Khan to expose the thieves. The Corruption Guru should answer their wrongdoings to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) instead of misguiding the nation.”

Earlier in the day, Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly, Hamza Shehbaz, said that the opposition parties are being united and important discussions will be held on national issues.

Hamza Shehbaz made the statement while talking to journalists before departing to Islamabad for attending Iftaar Dinner over the invitation of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.

He said that the country is facing the worst ever economic crisis due to ineligibility of the current rulers. The politician threatened Prime Minister Imran Khan to improve performance or either he will be sent to the home.

The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader said, “The development made in discussions between the opposition parties in today’s meeting will be briefed to Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif.” He urged political parties to sit together “otherwise the nation will not forgive you”.
