LARKANA: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Sunday that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification posed no threat to democracy or parliament, ARY News reported.
“PPP believes that accountability must be impartial and exhaustive and seeks to do so by introducing legislation for across the board accountability,” Bilawal said and added that the disqualification judgment by the Supreme Court needed adherence by us all.
The PPP chairman was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) center here in Larkana.
Bilawal said that they must strive to address ailment, not symptoms. “We must put country first and ourselves later. Sadly, Nawaz Sharif does not share this sentiment.”
He said,
“Infrastructure needs to be focus of the government. Our true purpose must be human development. To this end, We have invested our efforts towards providing healthcare through various endeavors including but not limited to upgradation of hospitals and trauma centers, establishment of cardiac center and hospitals for women and children.”
He appreciated the Sindh government for providing quality and affordable healthcare to the people of province. He challenged the chief executives of the other provinces to show the programs like state of art cardiac center and primary angioplasty provided to everyone free of cost in Sindh province.
He said the PPP government is working tirelessly to fulfill the vision of Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
