Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and invited Islamabad United to bat first in the crucial match.

The Islamabad side scored 176/3 in their 20 overs as Sharjeel Khan scored the first century of the tournament. He was supported by Dwayne Smith as the two put up a 108-run stand on the first wicket before the West Indian batsman was dismissed leg before from the bowling of Shaun Tait.

Brad Haddin couldn’t contribute anything to the side as he was trapped lbw by Tait on his first ball. Khalid Latif remained unbeaten at 28 runs.

Sharjeel Khan scored 117 runs before he was run out. He hit 12 fours and eight sixes.

The second wicket fell for 59 runs as Mohammad Hafeez was taken by Asif Ali from the bowling of Imran Khalid after contributing eight runs for the team.

The Peshawar side continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. Khalid took his wicket tally to four after dismissing Kamran Akmal, Darren Sammy and Brad Hodge as the batsmen scored 45, five and nine respectively.

Shahid Yousuf and Wahab Riaz contributed four with the blade while Wahab Riaz and Hasan Ali made a run each.

Skipper Shahid Afridi, scoring late runs, made 38 from 17 before being caught at the boundary by Dwayne Smith from the bowling of Andre Russell.
