He said that no efforts should be sparred in the safe recovery of the Chief Justice’s son. He directed law enforcement and intelligence agencies to speed up efforts in this regard.

However, law-enforcement authorities have made no headway in the disappearance Owais Shah and are conducting search operations across the city. The car of Owais Shah was last seen in Manghopir area after the passage of more than 28 hours

Advocate Owais Shah mysteriously went missing from near a superstore in a posh area of the metropolis on Monday. He was last seen at a supermarket in Clifton soon after Iftar, according to the registrar SHC.

In the early hours of Tuesday (today), the Director General Sindh Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar visited the superstore from where Advocate Owais Shah was allegedly abducted and questioned the store officials while taking a briefing from rangers officials in the case.

Meanwhile, a Special Security Unit (SSU) team also visited the spot for further investigation.

“Probe into the case is progressing well. So far we have arrested at least 20 suspects during late night search operations in the city. You will soon hear good news in this matter,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police SSU Rasheed.

To express solidarity with Chief Justice SHC, members of the provincial bar council have announced to boycott court proceedings.

ARY News quoted eyewitnesses as saying that when Advocate Owais came out of the superstore, at least four masked gunmen got down from a white colour car bearing a police registration number plate and intercepted him.

At first, Advocate Owais put up some resistance, but later the masked men overpowered him and whisked him away to an unknown location. His car was later found abandoned within the jurisdiction of Shahrah-e-Faisal Police Station in Karachi.

Following the incident, police initiated snap checking across the city as well as at all its entry and exit points.

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad ordered law enforcement agencies to place tight security checks across the city after taking notice of the incident.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also called on the provincial chief minister to make prompt actions for recovering the missing son of the chief justice Sindh High Court.
