SHC summons LEAs reply over 'missing persons'

A bench of SHC hearing petitions of the relatives of the arrested persons who have been missing after their arrests.

The bench ordered the D.G. Rangers Sindh and other concerned officials to submit their replies by 10 July.

The SHC division bench on Thursday had directed the top law officer of Sindh to submit a report suggesting a viable mechanism for the targeted operation in Karachi.

This viable mechanism must be acceptable to all and must prevent ‘extra-judicial’ killings, said the court order.

The two judges were hearing the cases of missing persons, who were allegedly detained by the law enforcers during the targeted operation in Karachi, and their bodies were later found dumped.
