LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif has decided to vacate two of his seats in Punjab Assembly reportedly after failure to form government in the province, ARY News reported.

According to details, Shehbaz Sharif has submitted a request with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to conduct by-polls in PP-164 and PP-165 constituencies for he is vacating the two Punjab Assembly seats.

Sources say Shehbaz Sharif, after his party’s failure to form government in the province, wants to focus on national-level politics and will retain his NA seat.

On the other hand, the former CM Punjab’s son Hamza Shehbaz has decided to vacate his National Assembly seat from NA-124 constituency and will only keep the PP-146 Punjab Assembly seat to rally his MPAs for a tough opposition in the provincial assembly.

ECP has also confirmed receiving Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz’s applications.

It is pertinent to note here that an anti-PTI alliance has nominated PML-N president Mian Shehbaz Sharif as candidate for prime minister against Imran Khan.
