Shehbaz returns to Lahore after doctors permit him to travel

LAHORE: Incarcerated Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has returned to Lahore on Tuesday after his medical examination was concluded and doctors allowed him to travel.

According to details, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif, who is currently under the custody of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), underwent medical examination at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) earlier today, sources informed ARY News.

During the check-up, the CT scan reports of the PML-N leader were reviewed and it was discovered that his intestines and glands were swelled. Further, the doctors recommended that a larger medical board be formed comprising cancer experts to examine Shehbaz.

Following the check-up, the NAB officials flew him back to Lahore, sources  added.

Former chief minister was brought to the federal capital last week to attend a session of the National Assembly.

On November 25, Shehbaz Sharif underwent computed tomography (CT) scan at a hospital in Islamabad on the advise of the medical board constituted on order of the court for the opposition leader of NA.

Medical board, comprising three doctors of polyclinic, examined the PML-N president and conducted his blood tests after he complained of pain in his throat on November 23.

As per sources, his blood report indicated signs of ‘blood cancer’.

Following the findings of his medical report, doctors had advised that Shehbaz’s CT scan be conducted on an urgent basis.

It is the second time that the former chief has been diagnosed with cancer.

The National Accountability Bureau on Oct 5 arrested Shehbaz Sharif inside its Lahore office where he was summoned to record his statement in connection with the Punjab Saaf Pani Company case.
