Shehbaz to contest from three NA constituencies of Karachi

LAHORE: President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shehbaz Sharif will contest upcoming general elections from three national assembly constituencies of Karachi, ARY News reported.

Former chief minister of Punjab will be the party candidate for NA-248, NA-249 and NA-250 seats from the metropolitan. Rana Mashood, PML-N member, will shortly reach city court to receive the nomination papers for Shehbaz Sharif, according to ARY News.

Under the supervision of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader Nawaz Sharif, a meeting of parliamentary board is being held to announce the first list of party candidates for the national and provincial assembly constituencies.

Shehbaz Sharif, the incumbent president of PML-N, was interviewed by the parliamentary board.

“Mian Sb [Nawaz Sharif], you are the party quaid [supreme leader] and it is your decision whether to give me a ticket or not,” Shehbaz said before the party board.

While he was describing the board on his performance and future plans during the interview, Shehbaz’s brother Nawaz Sharif lauded the efforts of Shehbaz Sharif by saying that “It is due to the outstanding performance of Shehbaz Sharif that PML-N is here to stay in Punjab.”

Alongside, Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif, the meeting is being attended by Maryam Nawaz, Hamza Shehbaz, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Sanaullah, Asif Ashraf and Rana Mashood among others at Model Town in Lahore.

The above mentioned are interviewing aspirants for PML-N tickets.

The party had earlier stated that ticket holders for the general election scheduled for July 25 would be announced in two phases. However, a date for the second phase is yet to be announced.
