Shikhar Dhawan’s first look from Bollywood film ‘Double XL’ unveiled

The first look of Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan from his debut Bollywood film ‘Double XL‘ has been unveiled.

The plot of ‘Double XL‘ revolves around two plus-size women Rajshree Trivedi (Huma Qureshi) from Meerut and Saira Khanna (Sonakshi Sinha) from New Delhi who deal with society’s beauty standards.

According to an Indian news agency, India’s stand-in captain for the ODI series against South Africa said he agreed to work on the project as it had an impact on his life.

“As an athlete playing for the nation, life is always very hectic. One of my favourite pastimes is to watch good entertaining films,” he said as quoted in the report. “When this opportunity came to me and I heard the story, it made a deep impact on me. 

“This is a lovely message for the whole society and I hope a lot of young girls and boys will keep pursuing their dreams no matter what.”

Earlier, Huma Qureshi and Sonakshi Sinha had both opened up about their character by sharing posters. 

“Meet Rajshri Trivedi. They say she can never be a sports presenter. They say she is too BIG to be on television… but guess what! Her passion is BIGGER and she’ll prove them all wrong!” Huma Qureshi wrote.

“Meet Saira Khanna. They say she cannot be a fashion designer. They say she is too BIG for her own clothes… but guess what! Her dreams are BIGGER and she’s out to achieve them!” Sonakshi Sinha stated.

Sonakshi Sinha, Huma Qureshi and Zaheer Iqbal play leading roles in the film.

The Bollywood film’s direction is helmed by Satram Ramani. Sasha Singh and Mudassar Aziz
have written the film. The latter has produced the film with Surabhi Bhatnagar, Armaan Memon, Kuldeep Ojha, Rahul Rawat, Sahil Singh and Ashwin Varde

It is set to release on November 4, 2022.
