SRINAGAR: A two-day shutdown is being observed from Wednesday against the Indian designs to change the demography of occupied Kashmir by abrogating Articles 35-A and 370 of the Indian Constitution, Kashmir Media Service reported.

As per details, the Article 35-A and Article 370 have been fixed for hearing in Supreme Court of India from today. Article 35-A bars outsiders from acquiring any immovable property in Jammu and Kashmir, while Article 370 grants a special status to the territory under the Indian Constitution.

As a result of the strike, all shops and business establishments remained closed across the territory. Indian forces’ personnel have been deployed in strength in Srinagar and other towns to prevent anti-India protests.

The call of strike was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership, which said in a statement said that “people of Jammu and Kashmir will forcefully resist every challenge by New Delhi to change the demography of J&K by rolling back hereditary state subject laws of 1927, being contested in the Supreme Court through their agents.”

On the other hand, Indian troops martyred two more Kashmiri youth in Budgam district, today. The martyrs were identified as Hilal Ahmad and Shoib Ahmad.
