Sindh govt decides new appointments in education boards

KARACHI: The Sindh government has decided to make new appointments in educational boards of the province after formal of Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, ARY News reported.

The new appointments will be made on contract basis for the period of four years.

The decision was made for appointments on major positions including secretaries, controller of examination in seven educational boards post approval of CM Shah.

According to details, overall 14 secretaries and controllers of examination will be appointed in different educational boards including the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi, Board of Secondary Education Karachi, Sindh Board of Technical Education, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Hyderabad and Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Mirpur Khas.

Earlier in January, the Sindh government had taken some crucial decisions including changing schedule of vacations and examinations and daily timing of educational institutes during a meeting to deliberate on bringing reforms in the education sector.

The meeting of the education department’s steering committee was presided over by the Sindh Education Minister Sardar Shah that announced summer vacations to be observed in May and June.

The education minister’s spokesperson said it has also been decided that the new academic year for colleges will commence in August instead of July.
