Sindh education minister enrolls daughter in govt school

HYDERABAD: Keeping the promise he made while speaking during a Sindh Assembly session, Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Shah on Friday enrolled his 9-year old daughter in a government school in Hyderabad.

Mr Shah enrolled his daughter Kaif-ul-Wara, a 4-grade student, in Government Girls Pilot Secondary Primary School, Hyderabad.

He also enrolled his two nieces in the government school.

Speaking during a session of the provincial legislature of late, the minister had announced to enroll his children in a government-run school with an aim to encourage enrollment in public schools.

The minister had announced to hire 6, 000 teachers in the first phase and ordered action against people who have occupied schools.

He said basis amenities, including toilets, clean drinking water and electricity would be ensured at all public schools across the province.

The minister resolved to achieve 100 per cent literacy rate in the province.
