KARACHI: Sindh government has further amended Sindh Local Government Ordinance (SLGO), ARY News reported on Saturday. 

Acting governor Agha Siraj Durrani promulgated Sindh local government law with 3rd amendment.

The law will come into force from September 16 a government handout said on Friday.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement has opposed the amended local government law.

It is pertinent to mention here that the government of Sindh yesterday assured in written about holding the local government election in the province on January 18 as per the demand of the election commission.

Under the amended local government law the violators of rules will disqualify for three years. Moreover, the re-election in a constituency will be held within the three months of the death of a candidate.
