Sindh govt has disappointed people of the province: PM Sharif

JACOBABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said the Pakistan People’s Party-led government in Sindh had disappointed the people of the province and it was his responsibility to work for their welfare and progress.

“If Sindh government had not disappointed you, than people would not have gathered here in such large number,” said the prime minister while addressing a public gathering in Jacobabad.

He deplored that the lack of facilities and development in Jacobabad, including the provision of clean drinking water. “The situation of Jacobabad is the same it was hundred years ago,” he said.

PM Sharif questioned why the Sindh government had neglected the people of Jacobabad, and not invested in the buildings of schools or hospitals in the city. “Votes are taken not by hollow slogans but through doing something substantial,” he said.

He assured that the situation in Sindh will change, and the presence of people in the public gathering despite the extreme heat is testament that they have expressed confidence in him.

PM Sharif announced a one billion development package for Jacobabad and said the people of the people truly deserved it, and hoped that that it will be well spent.

He said that the government has always restored peace and restored law and order in Sindh, which was infested with dacoits when his government first came to power in 1991.

He added that Karachi was facing security issues, extremism and terrorism but their government prioritised to restore peace in the city, which would have come last year if there were no obstacles in their path.

He promised to work for the development of Jacobabad, and announced to provide clean drinking water, set up a modern vocational training institute, and to provide health cards which would ensure free healthcare treatment in public hospitals.
