Addressing a gathering of businessman at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that the provincial government is considering a complete ban across the province from 8-10th Muharram and from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M.
The move to ensure strict security and law and order and to prevent any untoward incident or act terrorism or sectarian killing.
Shah maintained that situation in Karachi had been such that many have businesses were transferred outside the country. He expressed hope that peace had been restored in the city and there will be a reign of progress across the province.
He also announced that all shops and markets would open early morning and close at sunset. All businesses will be allowed to operate between 9 AM to 7 PM every day. He also announced a limitations on meals at weddings, and said that only one dish would be allowed as per austerity and simplicity measures.
He stressed on punctuality and said that there is no space for those officers who do not understand the importance of time. The chief minister upon being sworn in had also called for punctuality among bureaucrats and other government officials.
He had also made it mandatory for all motorcycle riders along with the pillion rider to wear helmets for their safety and protection, and imposed a fine of thousand rupees for all violators.
