Sindh govt reviews arrangements of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s Urs

JAMSHORO: A meeting was held in Jamshoro on Tuesday to review arrangements for the 767th three-day Urs of Sufi saint Hazrat Qalandar Lal Shahbaz to begin on April 25 in Sehwan Sharif, ARY News reported.

More than 2.5 million followers of Lal Shahbaz will attend the Urs and 20,000 security personnel will be deployed at the venue, the meeting was told. Jamshoro Deputy Commissioner and Sehwan Sharif mela committee chairman retired Captain Fareeduddin attended the meeting.

The deputy commissioner said it would be ensured that all kind of facilities like, health, supply of power and drainage would be provided to them.

The provincial government has already imposed a ban on bathing in a local canal.

It was decided during the meeting that free drinking water will be provided to participants and they would given abode in medical camps. Pakistan Navy personnel will also be deployed for security.

He said it would be ensured that all kind of facilities like drinking water, health, supply of power and drainage would be provided to them.

The installation of close circuit TV cameras will be installed to ensure coverage for security reasons. All kinds of movement in and out of the city would be checked through a monitoring cell.
