KARACHI: Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah left for Islamabad today to attend a session of the Council of Common Interest (CCI).
Shah, who also holds the law portfolio of Sindh, will attend the meeting of CCI sub-committee on law.
Before leaving for the federal capital Murad Ali Shah said that the province produces gas and oil have priority right over it under the constitution. The province, however, can provide the excess production to other provinces after meeting his needs, he further said. To discuss this constitutional point a sub-committee has been formed, a spokesman of the Chief Minister House said. Murad Ali Shah will attend the meeting as Sindh’s minister of law.
Shah has said that he will fight Sindh’s case in the meeting. “Being an engineer by profession, I am also son of a lawyer and understand legal matters,” the chief minister said.
The CCI committee meeting will be attended by the law ministers and advocate generals of the four provinces and the Attorney General, the spokesman added.
