Singer Fariha Parvez files for divorce from husband Nouman Javaid

According to details, the singer filed for divorce from Nouman at a family court in Lahore. The news comes a few weeks after Nouman had made headlines for attempting suicide. However, her husband Nouman denied that his wife had obtained divorce from him since they had never registered their marriage in the first place.

According to a local report, Nouman said:-

“I don’t know how she is filing for a khullah when we didn’t even register our nikkah in the first place,” he said.

Nouman claimed that his marriage with Fariha was still intact and that she was still his wife. He also spoke about his depression and said that his marriage was not the only reason he had attempted suicide.
“Fariha was not the only reason behind my depression; there were a number of other things involved,” he said.

“I was in depression for quite some time before finally attempting suicide. I was facing issues in life but I wish to make it clear that my marriage has not ended yet.”

Nouman and Fariha had been involved in a public dispute concerning a property. Nouman also said that he was making efforts to save his marriage and was thankful for the support his fans had provided him.

“I am making efforts to convince her and I am hopeful that everything will turn out fine.  “I am grateful to my well wishers who have supported me during crucial times by showing their love on social media,” he said.
