ISTANBUL/ISLAMABAD: Turkish police on Wednesday recovered six Pakistani abductees from the custody of local kidnappers, Pakistan’s Foreign Office and Turkish police authorities have confirmed.
The abducted Pakistanis who have been rescued include Fazal Amin, Adil Ahmad Muhammad Zeeshan, Abid, Usman Ali and Ashbar Ahmad. The six youths belonged to Gujranwala, Mardan and Peshawar cities of the country.
The Turkish police also claimed to have arrested four kidnappers.
FO spokesman Nafees Zakaria has said that officials from Consulate General of Pakistan are in contact with the police authorities and have sought access to the rescued Pakistanis.
All six Pakistanis wanted to enter Greece through Turkey with the help of a local group offering illegal immigration, the youths were then sold to another group in Turkey which demanded ransom from the families of these Pakistani men.
‘Inhumane torture’
The abductors in Turkey had sent videos to the relatives of the abducted youths demanding ransom for their release. The videos sent through the Pakistani agent showed the youths being brutally tortured by the abductors. The kidnappers demanded Rs2million as ransom for each abductee.
As these videos made it to the mainstream media, Pakistan and Turkey’s law enforcers collaborated to arrest the culprits.

One of the abductees, Fazl Ameen’s brother thanked ARY News for raising the issue which led to his brother’s release.
Mother and sisters of Muhammad Zeeshan also thanked government of Pakistan, media and all those who played their role in the recovery of abducted Pakistanis.
