RAWALPINDI: At least six soldiers were martyred and three injured in a landmine blast in North Waziristan tribal region, military said on Monday.

A landmine blast killed six soldiers and injured three others in Ghulam Khan near the Pak-Afghan border, quoting Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), ARY News reported.

The military formally launched the operation ‘Zarb-i-Azb’ in North Waziristan tribal region to crush militants, involved in spreading terrorism and carrying out terror activities in the country.

At least 140 militants said to be killed in air strikes by Pakistan Air Force jet fighters since yesterday. Those killed include Uzbek terrorists along with some local and foreign militants.
