Six terrorism suspects arrested in Karachi

Police on a tip off about presence of TTP terrorists conducted a raid in Rizvia Society and arrested six suspects after exchange of fire. A policeman was injured in the incident.

The six arrested men have been named as Saeed Alam, Syed Amin, Muzaffar, Naseer, Islamuddin and Abdul Hakim.

The arrested militants said to be affiliated with Adnan Rasheed Group of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Four pistols, six hand grenades and two motorbikes were captured from the possession of the arrested terror suspects, police officials said.

The terrorists had planted explosives in a motorcycle likely to be used for an attack in the city. The bomb disposal squad (BDS) defused the bomb. Four to five kilogrammes of the bomb material was planted in the motorbike, BDS officials said. The bomb made to be detonated with a mobile phone, experts said.

The arrested men have been transferred to an undisclosed place and being questioned by the investigators, sources said.

Bomb hurled at Rangers checkpost

Moreover, unidentified miscreants hurled a hand grenade at a check post of Rangers in Nazimabad.

The attackers escaped from the scene after hurling the bomb.

It was a homemade bottle bomb carrying 250 grams of explosives, officials said.
