According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan Army and militants exchanged fire at Shawal due to which six terrorists were killed.
Two soldiers including Lieutenant Colonel Faisal Malik also lost their lives in the clash.

It should be noted that Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif had approved ground offensives in Shawal to root out terrorists from the area.
On the other hand, security forces destroyed two hideouts and arrested two terrorists in an offensive in Orakzai agency.
ISPR stated that a vehicle and a motorcycle were recovered from the arrested terrorists.
