Anil Kapoor’s daughter and Khoobsurat actress Sonam was shooting for her upcoming film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. The actress complained of viral fever Friday morning when she was rushed to a hospital. “She had been having a fever since after the day she came in and is admitted to a city-based hospital today. Meanwhile there is no ruckus on the film set and no-one else has shown any symptoms so far and shooting has resumed in the palace premises,” said a source close to the development.
Kapoor was taken to the Sterling hospital at Rajkot where she gave some tests and the results for swine flu came back positive. “She had been admitted to the hospital at around 10 am on Saturday. Dr Chirag Matravadiya, examined her. As the patient had symptoms of cold, fever etc, the doctor recommended her swine flu test. The lab tests came positive for H1N1virus in the evening,” said the spokesperson of Sterling hospital. “Right now, she is being treated in an intensive care unit in isolation ward of our hospital. Doctors treating her are saying that her condition is stable,” he added.
Dr.Matravadia, head of the Critical Care Unit at Sterling hospital, seemed to be of the opinion that Sonam had contracted her fever from her trainer in Mumbai. “She is under observation in isolation ward at the hospital. Primarily it seems that she got infection from Mumbai as her trainer is also infected with swine flu and is under treatment in Mumbai,” Dr Matravadia added.
According to the health department of Rajkot Municipal Corporation, since January a total of 48 cases of swine flu have been reported and 6 people have succumbed to the illness. Many schools have also been closed till the 9th of March 2015 when a teacher in St. Mary’s Convent School fell ill to swine flu in the city.
We wish Sonam Kapoor all the best and hope that she recovers from the illness and resumes shooting for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo soon!
