Special Court hears treason case against Musharraf

ISLAMABAD: Special court hearing treason charges against former president Pervez Musharraf asked Chief Prosecutor Akram Shaikh on Thursday to present his arguments over objections on the report of the medical board about state of health of the former military ruler of Pakistan. 

The court headed by Justice Faisal Arab today rejected a plea of the defence for adjournment of the case, ARY News reported on Thursday. 

The court asked the prosecution to present arguments on its objections over the report of the medical board about the medical condition of Pervez Musharraf. 

The prosecution had earlier pleaded to the bench to summon the head of the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) for cross-examination. 

The prosecution had submitted an application before the court and raised a number of objections to the report prepared by the medical board of the AFIC. 

The medical board in its report had declared the condition of Gen Musharraf as critical and recommended his treatment at a place of his choice.
