Speeding truck kills 80 sheep in Sialkot road mishap

SIALKOT: Around 80 sheep were crushed to death and over 100 injured under the wheels of a speeding truck in Sialkot on Friday, police officials said.

The incident took place when a large herd of sheep came onto the path of two dumper trucks which were racing each other on Marala Road of Sialkot.

A dumper truck driver lost control and ran over the sheep, killing at least 80 animals.

Over a hundred other sheep were left injured in the incident.

The herdsman also said to be injured in the accident.

The mishap caused a traffic jam in the area and a crane was brought to remove the carcases of sheep from the road.

Police has arrested the dumper driver and seized his truck.
