Student group at KU denies stopping female students from playing cricket on campus

The female students were playing cricket with the males when the members of the religious party tried to stop them. Several girls were reported injured when a scuffle broke out.

The rightwing party’s in charge Qazi Haseeb in Karachi University said that a clash took place between two groups however no females were attacked during the incident.

He added that the group does not have the power to ban females from playing sports in the educational facility.

The in charge said that any of the group members found responsible in the incident will be excluded from the student wing of the religious party.

Asma Jahangir demands apology

Human rights activist Asma Jahangir said that the elements with extremist mentality cannot impose their mindset on the society.

She added that the elements should guide the youth instead of attacking females.

Addressing the students, Jahangir added that the girls should defend themselves with a cricket bat if such kinds of incidents are repeated.

She demanded Haseeb to tender an apology if his group is not involved in the incident.
