SUKKUR: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) during snap checking shot dead a terrorist at a check post near Sukkur on Sunday night, ARY News reported.
The CTD personnel at Sukkur-Shikarpur link road signalled three men on motorcycle to stop on which the bike riding armed men opened fire at them.
In retaliation,CTD cops gunned down one suspect while two others managed to flee from the scene.
According to security officials, snap checking was being carried out on an intelligence tip-off that some terrorists have entered in Sindh from the area bordering restive province of Balochistan.
Heavy cache of arms and ammunition including explosive material and a hand gun were also seized in a search operation in the area to apprehend fleeing militants.
Separately, police arrested a suspect in an injured condition after an exchange of fire in Clifton area of Karachi.
In another raid, police apprehended three miscreants in Karachi’s Pak Colony.
