Suspended Pakistani cricketers placed on ECL for spot fixing probe

ISLAMABAD: Names of suspended Pakistani cricketers allegedly involved in spot fixing placed on Exit Control List (ECL) on Monday on directions of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, ARY News reported.

“Players bringing the country’s name down must be brought to justice”, Nisar asserted while also directing action against bookies during a meeting with Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials.

The interior minister further urged to ban the websites promoting match fixing.

Moreover, FIA recorded the statements of two cricketers Muhammad Irfan and Khalid Latif today.

Interior Minister was also briefed about the statements of suspended cricketers.

Furthermore, the charge sheet against the players by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) handed over to the tribunal adjudicating spot-fixing scandal.

It is pertinent to mention here that Khalid Latif, Muhammad Irfan, Sharjeel Khan, Nasir Jamshed and Shahzeb Hasan have been provisionally suspended from all form of cricket for violating rules and regulation of the PCB.
