CHATTARPUR: A shocking healthcare situation at a hospital in India was caught on camera where ‘sweepers’ reportedly check blood pressure of patients and even conduct operations when the doctors are not around.
According to by the Times of India, women expecting a child were being treated under candle light on regular basis in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh. Sweepers are allowed to check blood pressure of patients at the hospital.
The condition is so bad that there are constant power cuts, says the report. “When doctors are not there, operations are even left to the sweepers at times.”
Besides, sweepers also check the blood pressure of patients.
One of the patients speaking to an Indian news agency ANI said: “I am here for a day but no doctor has conducted a check-up of me or my son.”
“There are not even releasing me and we are lying here without being attended.”
The female patient went on to say that nobody entered the healthcare centre for last night.
