Responding to the viral posts, the “Rocky” star shared an image on Instagram holding up his fists with professional boxer Sergey Kovalev on Saturday.
Without referencing the hoax that quickly spread across social media, Sylvester brushed it off with a cheeky smile and boxing pose, proving he’s as fit as ever.
He posted: “With the incredibly powerful unified light heavyweight champion, Sergey “Krusher”Kovzalev “…Whatever he hits, he destroys Sergey Kovalev (sic).”
Fans of the “Rocky” and “Rambo” action movie legend were thrown into a state of shock this weekend as a rumour circulated on social media and appeared to confirm his death.
It all started when a hoax article falsely reporting Stallone’s death went viral after it was posted on social media at the weekend.
The article, which was widely shared on social media, announced “Stallone is found dead” and featured a CNN banner head.
Prescription pills were also falsely reported to be found “at the scene” of the Rocky star’s death.
Many social media users were fooled by the article, which featured a photograph of police with a body bag.
“R.I.P… what a legend u will be missed well and truly”, one Facebook user wrote. However, the 70-year-old actor was alive and well and took to Instagram to share snapshots of his day.
Undoubtedly it was a shock for millions of Stallone fans whose unflinching love for the top Hollywood star still as same as during the yesteryears. The actor has starred in several blockbusters like Rocky and The Expendables.
