More than 4mn children per year in Pakistan to benefit from new injectable polio vaccine

ISLAMABAD: More than four million children per year will benefit from the introduction of the inactivated polio vaccine (IPV) in Pakistan. The vaccine will be introduced into the country’s routine immunisation schedule and given to children alongside other life-saving vaccines. This is a landmark step to accelerate polio eradication and secure a lasting polio-free world, according to a WHO press release.
