In order to support the government's initiative to provide relief to the people amid COVID-19 pandemic, pharmaceutical companies have decided not to increase drug prices in the first quarter of financial year 2020-21.

It is part of a government policy to fight the high price of prescription drugs, which often exceeds those in neighboring Canada and Mexico.

“Pharmaceutical companies have announced to restore old prices on the medicines following pressure of the government,” Zahid Saeed said.
