ISLAMABAD: The government on Wednesday appointed Syed Tahir Shahbaz who was serving as Secretary Establishment Division as the Wafaqi Mohtasib (Federal Ombudsman) for four years.
A notification has been issued after approval from the President. The recommendation was approved by the Prime Minister’s Office on Tuesday.
It may be mentioned that Tahir Shahbaz is currently under investigation by the National Accountability Bureau and the Federal Investigation Agency in the Grand Hyatt hotel case.
He was also part of the investigation committee in the Dawnleaks controversy. He has also served as a former registrar of the Supreme Court.
