Take a walk, for your own benefit!

TOP NEWS

  1. A stroll each day can make you energetic!

Yeah, trust me it might sound strange and completely the opposite, but it’s true! Walking relaxes stiff joints and loosens stiffened muscles as well. When you walk, the blood regulation increases and your blood paces to all parts of your body, which is a healthy sign. When your blood circulation increases, oxygen is supplied to each and every cell of your body at a faster rate.

  1. Outdoors is the best supplement for Vitamin D

Whilst this may not attribute directly to walking, yet pacing or walking outdoors ensures you get plenty of sun (during the day). This ensures your body is stacked up properly with the right amount of Vitamin D, an essential item which is not readily available in food but easily absorbed from sunlight. From bone health to immunity, Vitamin D dosage is never a bad idea. Soak up the sun during a nice walk but be sure not to burn yourself to a crisp!

  1. Tone your legs and chest

Maintain the right posture when walking and your abs, legs will be toned to perfection! Keep your spine straight and your shoulders steady (to ensure proper rotation).Since legs carry your whole body, they bear the brunt of the whole walking exercise which ensures legs muscles are strong and sturdy.

  1. No more heart attacks!

Basically any exercise which makes the heart pump blood faster and regulate the flow of blood, is good for your body. Walking reduces the level of LDL (bad cholesterol) and increases the level of HDL (good cholesterol) in your body.   “Anything that raises your heart rate and gets your blood pumping is a workout for your heart and circulatory system,” says personal trainer Stuart Amory. According to the Stroke Association, walking briskly for up to 30 minutes can help prevent and control the high blood pressure that can cause strokes – reducing your risk by up to 27 per cent.
