ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Talal Chaudhry on Friday took a jibe at the chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri, and Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rashid Ahmed calling them “viruses of democracy”.
“There are certain virus in Pakistan who are a threat to democracy and to spread discord, and one of them is the cleric from Canada,” he said while speaking during the GT Road rally which is underway from Islamabad to Lahore.
“These along with his partners, whether it is Imran, PML-Q, or Sheikh Rasheed, who were polling agents of Musharraf’s referendum, are the virus of the system,” he said
“And there is only one antidode for them and that is Mian Nawaz Sharif,” he quipped.
“What kind of system is this that some one elects you, and then you are sent home,” he questioned about the ouster of Nawaz Sharif as prime minister.
The state minister also criticised the Joint Investigation Team whose report to the Supreme Court led to the dismissal of Nawaz Sharif, saying that the rally will be the death knell for them as they have committed a ‘grave mistake’.
“Lahore is not our final destination, but is just the beginning.”
