Teacher sexually assaults female student in India-held Kashmir

According to NDTV, the teacher committed the crime at his school’s office.

Police said the incident occurred in Chambalbas village of Banihal tehsil on Friday when the teacher, identified as Hayat Khan, allegedly raped the girl, they said.

On some pretext Khan had asked the girl to wait for him after the classes were over and later took her to the school office room where he sexually assaulted her.

When the girl returned home, she narrated the incident to her parents, who filed a complaint at the Banihal police station following which the accused was held.

“Raids were conducted and the accused was arrested by evening. A case under various sections have been registered against him (Khan) and the results of the medical test of the girl are awaited,” said senior police officer Nasir Ahmed.
