Tendulkar at 38* in his farewell test in Mumbai

MUMBAI: The legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar has remained unbeaten on Thursday in his 200th and farewell test match at the score of 38 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, ARY News reported.

Sachin Tendulkar received a big round applause from the crowd along with a bouquet of tributes from fellow players and officials, the BCCI president N Srinivasan handed him a souvenir, a painted portrait was presented to him and MS Dhoni gave him a special cap with ‘200’ printed on its brim which he used instead of his usual floppy hat.

Besides his own team mates, the West Indies side gave him a framed autographed shirt, the coin at the toss was a specially minted one featuring Tendulkar.

India after winning the toss chooses to bowl, West Indies were on the track with 93-2 till the lunch, but wasn’t able to handle the India’s spin pair of R Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha and slid from 140 for 3 to 182 all out.

Pragyan Ojha used the condition well and got 5 wickets haul while R Ashwin took three wickets.

Although Sachin was the most prominent player that crowd desperately waiting for but India’s opening pair of Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan attacked the opponents handsomely in the partnership of 77 runs before falling back to back at the same score.

At the stumps of the first day India were 157 for 2 with Sachin and Cheteshwar Pujara on the crease at 38 and 34 respectively.
