QUETTA: Two suspected terrorists were shot dead in a gun battle with the personnel of the law enforcement agencies in Quetta’s Nawa Kali area on Saturday night.
According to the local police, a police team was going to arrest terror suspects following the lead provided by their arrested accomplice.
When the law enforcement personnel reached Nawa Kali area, the militants opened fire on them in a bid to free their accomplice from the clutches of the police, a police official said.
In the ensuing shootout, two terror suspects were killed, he added.
The suspects were associated with a proscribed organization, according to the police. However, their identities couldn’t be ascertained immediately.
A day earlier, a policeman was killed while another sustained bullet wounds when unidentified armed men opened fire on them at Sariab road of Quetta on Saturday morning.
According to the local police, the police personnel were on a routine patrol when they came under attack.
A police official said unidentified armed men opened fire at the law enforcement personnel and sped away, leaving a policeman dead, while another with bullet injuries.
