Eight policeman martyred, two terrorists killed in Balochistan DIG office attack

LORALAI: Nine people including eight policemen were martyred while two terrorists were killed in the terrorist attack at the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Zhob Ranges’s office in Balochistan on Tuesday, reported ARY News.

At least 20 people including six policemen were injured in the attack, who were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment where three were pronounced critical.

Initial reports relayed that DIG Nisar Tanoli was evacuated safely along with 15 other people. Intense firing took place between the police and terrorists. A blast was also heard from the DIG office’s premises.

“Terrorists entered the DIG’s office,” said security forces personnel. “Blasts and gunshots were heard from inside.”

According to sources, a training and recruitment test was being carried out when the attack took place. Additional police contingents were summoned to the incident and the area was cordoned off for further investigation.
