Third day of IDEAS’18: PAF air show to dazzle spectators today

KARACHI: The third day of the 10th edition of International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS 2018) has begun on Thursday (today) with one of the most enthralling features of the exhibition – the airshow of Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

According to details, PAF air show will take place at Nishan-i-Pakistan, Sea View today, with JF-17 Thunder and a F-16 fighter aircraft. The team of Sherdil aerobatics team will also present an aerial display.

A press release issued by the Directorate of Media Affairs of PAF said, this year PAF is participating in the mega event with locally made state-of-the-art military hardware, including Air Defence Command and Control Centres and integrated simulators.

Manufactured by PAF, these simulators are being used to modernise its operational training environment, the press release added.

Exclusive aviation conference by the Air Force will also be held today, while Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra has also set up its stall along with a static display of JF-17 Thunder and Super Mushshak aircraft at Karachi’s Expo Centre.

The four-day defence exhibition was inaugurated by President Arif Alvi on November 27 and will continue till November 30.

IDEAS 2018 has surpassed all previous milestones in terms of space, booking, exhibitors and delegates – domestic and foreigners, and Karachi Expo Centre has been booked to its full capacity with 522 exhibitors from 51 countries, including Pakistan, the officials informed.

Organised under the aegis of Defence Export Promotion Organisation (DEPO), IDEAS brings together defence industry players from different parts of the world.

Besides Pakistan itself, other major exporters of defence technology including China, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Jordan, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Turkey, UAE, Ukraine, USA are exhibiting their exclusive country pavilions at IDEAS’18.
