Threat alert issued for schools, hospitals in Lahore

LAHORE: The National Counter Terrorism Authority has issued a threat alert about a possible attack at vital institutions including schools and hospital in Lahore.

In this regard, NACTA has written a letter dated February to Home Secretary Punjab stating that it has emerged that an “unidentified terrorist group”is plotting to attack Lahore, and all vital institutions including schools and hospitals should be kept under strict vigilance.

It further states that vigilance and security deployed at hospitals and schools should be enhanced to avert any potential threat.

The letter is also sent to the Provincial Police Officer Punjab, and the Director General Pakistan Rangers Punjab. A copy of the letter has also been sent to all political and military institutions across the nation.
