Three more deaths take Sargodha hospital toll to 73

The death toll at the hospital in last 40 days has reached 73.

The Supreme Court had also taken notice of infants dying at the hospital and summoned a report from the Punjab Health Secretary.

Medical superintendent of the DHQ and some other officials were suspended for their alleged negligence that led to the deaths of newborn babies following an inquiry conducted by the Punjab government.

Sources told that the reason for deaths was due to absence of facilities, including unavailability of oxygen and incubators shortage as well as negligence of the doctors.
